From News Center (Text by Zhang Shangmei, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Photos by Chen Chen from the Publicity Department, and Ma Keda, Chen Yicong, Yang Zongliang, Lu Jiahao, Huang Guangcong from the Converged Media Center) On the morning of May 15, 2026, the Embodied Intelligence Robot Technology Application Center was officially inaugurated at LZPU. Co-founded by LZPU in partnership with three global industry leaders and research institutes — AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing FANUC Mechatronics Co., Ltd., and Lenovo Research — as well as leading Liuzhou-based automotive manufacturers including Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd., the center marks a new chapter for industry-education integration, technological innovation, and industrial empowerment in the field of embodied intelligence robots in Guangxi.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Liu Zilin, Secretary of the Party Committee of LZPU, and Qu Fan, Vice President of LZPU; Zhao Taotao, Director of the Administrative Committee of Liudong New District, Liuzhou; Wen Jian, Deputy Director of Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Education; Zeng Ling, Director of the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Liudong New District; Bao Dan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd.; Song Bin, Solution Director of AGIBOT Research & Education System Department, AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd.; Yu Yingxian, Deputy General Manager of Beijing FANUC Mechatronics Co., Ltd.; Zhong Jiangwei, Senior Director of Lenovo Research Institute (Shanghai); Chen Jun, Deputy Director of Chassis Component Technology at Wuling Industrial Technology Center under Guangxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd.

In their speeches, leaders from the university, the education authorities, and Liudong New District reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging the Center as a platform for talent cultivation, technological innovation, and open collaboration. They emphasized deepening industry-education integration, empowering industrial upgrades, supporting Liuzhou in building a “10+N” modern industrial system, and contributing to the high-quality development of Guangxi.

The Center is closely aligned with the national intelligent manufacturing strategy and Guangxi’s AI development roadmap – “R&D in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou + Integration in Guangxi + Application in ASEAN.” Responding to the smart upgrade needs of Liuzhou’s pillar industries – automobile, machinery, and metallurgy – the Center focuses on four core areas: embodied robot system integration, scenario-based deployment, key component manufacturing, and talent training. It aims to tackle common technical bottlenecks in industrial intelligent transformation.

AGIBOT Innovation  brings cutting-edge expertise in embodied intelligence and humanoid robots, including robotic prototypes, large models, and core algorithms. Beijing FANUC contributes deep experience and leadership in industrial robots and CNC systems, along with capabilities in key component design, precision manufacturing, and industrial standardization. Lenovo Research, the innovation engine of Fortune Global 500 company Lenovo Group, drives R&D in AI, embodied robotics, and application scenarios. Together with LZPU’s strengths in talent cultivation and real-world application scenarios from leading local auto manufacturers, the Center will accelerate the deployment of embodied intelligence technologies in automotive assembly, welding, material handling, and inspection.

The establishment of the center will effectively elevate Guangxi’s innovation capacity in intelligent manufacturing and embodied intelligence sectors, and advance in-depth integration of cutting-edge technologies and regional industries. By building a new industry-education integration model featuring "scientific research guiding teaching and teaching supporting industries", it will comprehensively improve talent training quality and technical service capabilities, precisely fuel the intelligent upgrading of Liuzhou’s advantageous industries, and optimize the regional innovation ecosystem for intelligent manufacturing. It will lay a solid foundation for Liuzhou to build a modern manufacturing city, and help Guangxi serve the national intelligent manufacturing strategy as well as the overall development of ASEAN opening-up and cooperation.
